OK, Here's Our Story ...
And Please Don't Judge, Because if You are Here, You are Guilty Too ... LOL!Our Story
Wow, where to begin?
OK, here’s our story, and we will try to be brief …
As many girls are, we are a bunch of shoeholics, shoe lovers, shoenistas, shoe crazies, shoe aficionados, shoe_ whatever noun you choose to put there, who, always purchase more shoes than we can wear in a lifetime.
We are sometimes buying 10 – 15 pairs at a time. Yes, we are terrible!
But tsk, tsk, now, let’s be honest ladies, what woman isn’t terrible when it comes to shoes?
Having more shoes than we can ever wear is our Rite of Passage, our way to define who we are, a way to formalize our love for shoes — and most obviously, a way to share our fashion sense with others. Not to mention, shoes are how we add the knockout punch to all of our phenomenal outfits.
Nonetheless, through the years, we have built up a collection of unique, sexy, casual, colorful, and fun to wear shoes. Though, as life would have it, we realize we will never be able to wear ALL the shoes we own.
With changes in our health, the aging factor, and other lifestyle changes, there is utterly no way we can manage to wear every pair of the 5-6 hundred+ pairs of shoes living behind our closet doors. So many that our husbands are building makeshift cabinets and extra shelving throughout our homes to contain the overflow.
Moreover, some of us are raising new families and find it difficult to get out to celebrate as much as we would like. Thus, we have no time to wear even half the shoes in our closets. We all know that babies keep you busy, children run you rampant, and teenagers cost you money. So, enjoying and keeping up with the latest fashion like we used to becomes harder to do.
For these reasons and others, we have decided to open up our closets and make the other “loves of our lives” – that would be our shoes — available to all our “Sisters in Shoes” out there who may be interested in what we have to offer.
We figure, instead of keeping our closets closed and allowing the shoes to sit unused and unworn, it would serve us better to make them available for purchase to others who might have an interest in what we have to offer; hence, the creation of Shoes From My Closet. Though there are some shoes, we donate, and some we give away.
In a nutshell, this is our story
So, What’s the Catch?
Well, here’s the kicker —
Firstly, because our shoes are mostly size 9.5 and 10, naturally, because that’s the size most of us wear, with a few smaller sizes available, there is only one pair of each style offered on this website.
That means the shoes sell on a first-come-first-served basis and may go quickly.
Sorry about that ladies!
As for the smaller sizes, they exist because, when some of our friends heard what we were doing, they asked if we would include their shoes as well, and of course, we said yes, because we knew it would be a benefit for our “Sisters in Shoes” who wear smaller sizes, even though, at the moment, we don’t have many.
